Youth Media Tour: Vlogging for Storytelling

Are you a nonprofit, organization, or school educator looking to give your students or youth hands-on experience in vlogging?

Vlogging is a powerful tool for young creators. Whether they’re exploring the city of Kalamazoo, uncovering local events, or telling their own unique stories through video, this experience empowers youth to share their voices and perspectives in a fun, modern, and impactful way!

🎥 About the Project:

This is a 2-day interactive experience where youth and instructors will use our Mobile Activism Kits (4 kits available) to create original video stories in their community. From field trips to discovering untold stories through their lens, this program offers a dynamic blend of learning, creativity, and real-world media skills.

Learn how to frame your shots, explore different camera angles and movements, and capture high-quality visuals using professional techniques!

🗣️ Story Development
What makes a vlog engaging, fun, or powerful? Learn how to craft compelling stories that leave an impact.

💻 Day 2: Editing Your Story

Jump into editing with DaVinci Resolve 20 – a user-friendly yet powerful video editing software. We’ll teach the basics of cutting, trimming, audio syncing, and visual storytelling so your videos shine!

By the end of this program, youth will have created original, meaningful stories rooted in their own communities—learning skills in video production, storytelling, and digital activism along the way.
