Camera Operators: As a camera operator, you'll be stationed along the parade route or in our studio to capture live footage of the parade, pre-show, and interviews. You’ll need to be comfortable operating a tripod-mounted camera, following direction from the director, and maintaining steady, well-framed shots throughout the broadcast.

Runners: Runners are the behind-the-scenes MVPs. You'll help with everything from moving gear and supplies to communicating between teams and assisting with last-minute needs. This is a great entry-level role that offers a chance to see all areas of the production process up close.

Floor Director: The floor director is the main point of communication between the control room and on-air talent in the studio. You’ll be responsible for giving cues, keeping segments on schedule, and helping maintain order in a fast-paced live environment. Prior experience or training is strongly encouraged.

Spotters / TV Area Sign Holders: Spotters will help guide the camera team and director by identifying which floats or parade groups are approaching next, especially in areas where visibility may be limited. Sign holders will assist in visually identifying each act or group for the on-air team, making it easier to provide accurate commentary.

On-Air Talent: This role is perfect for someone with a clear speaking voice, a lively personality, and experience (or comfort) being on camera. You’ll provide commentary, introduce segments, and help keep the energy high throughout the broadcast. Familiarity with local events and culture is a plus.

On-the-Street Interviewer: As our roaming reporter, you’ll be stationed along the parade route conducting live or recorded interviews with participants and spectators. This role requires confidence, quick thinking, and the ability to engage people on the fly — all while staying camera-ready.

Walkers: This role is perfect for someone who wants to be involved without as much pressure! These folks will walk alongside the PMN float, wearing fun costumes or festive apparel. Just show up, have fun, and get some steps in while being a part of this great tradition.

We will be reaching out to you regarding the position you’re interested in, as well as the training needed for that role. Be Part of the Team! Whether you're looking to build your media skills, connect with the community, or just be part of the excitement, we'd love to have you join our crew for this year’s Kalamazoo Holiday Parade.
